IIE Chapter Receives Gold Award

The Student Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) at the University of Arkansas has received the Frank F. Groseclose Gold Award.  IIE considers student chapters to be the foundation of its institution and recognizes outstanding performance.  Chapters are evaluated based on participation in local, regional and national educational and social activities, including National Engine Week.  In addition, chapters are judged on the level of outreach they perform including tutoring, mentoring, and community projects.  The awards are judged by IIE staff and the Senior Vice-President for Chapters with the advice of the Networking Leadership Council.

This is the third consecutive year that the chapter has received the Gold Award.  The University of Arkansas Student Chapter is co-advised by Justin Chimka and Karen Hendrix.   During the 2008 term, the chapter had two presidents: Ernesto Sigala and Coby Durham.  The current UA IIE president is Maci Dickson.
